Abhay’s Family on a Seamless Adventure to Kerala with Thrillophilia

A family of travellers set out with hope in their hearts; Kerala welcomed them gently, where every journey starts. Waterfalls whispered stories, tea gardens shone bright, and backwaters sparkled softly in the warm evening light. From hills to oceans, their memories grew deep; In God’s Own Country, joy was theirs to keep.

In the soothing greens of Kerala, Abhay Thapliyal, his family and close relatives began an eight day journey that would unfold beautifully from the very first moment. They had travelled before, but this holiday felt different because everything was effortlessly smooth and exceptionally organised.

Arrival in Kochi: Towards the Hills of Munnar

The family landed in Kochi, greeted warmly by the representative holding their name card. The children stood close, the elders smiled, and Abhay said, “Our holiday begins now.”

Their driver, experienced and calm, loaded the luggage and said politely, “Let us make this a wonderful journey.”

As they drove toward Munnar, the scenery kept changing. Coconut trees soon gave way to forests, and forests opened into hills. The first stop was at Valara and Cheyyappara waterfalls, where the family stood together, listening to the gentle roar of the water.

13-year-old Yatharth whispered, “It looks like white silk falling from the rocks.”

The group then visited tea gardens. The fragrance of fresh leaves filled the air. A worker plucking tea leaves explained the process patiently. Everyone listened with interest.

By evening, they reached their hotel and settled in. Abhay looked around the property and said with satisfaction, “This is exactly what we needed.”

Exploring Munnar: Hills, Lakes and Spices

The second day began with breakfast and fresh mountain air. The itinerary for the day was full, but the pace felt smooth because the driver knew every route perfectly.

They began at the spice plantations, walking through fields of pepper, cardamom and cinnamon. The aroma surrounded them. One of the family members said jokingly, “If I breathe deeply, maybe I will become a spice expert.”

The next stop: more tea gardens. Everyone clicked photos. The elders admired the lush slopes. The children ran ahead and waved from between the tea bushes.

Then came a full round of Munnar’s iconic spots.
Mattupetty Lake, still and calm.
Echo Point, where the children shouted their names and laughed as their voices returned.
Kundale Lake, shining like a sheet of glass.
Blossom Garden, colourful and peaceful.

As the sun began to dip, the driver said, “This is the best time for photos. The light is perfect.”
He was right.

That evening, the family rested with warm food and quiet conversations.

Towards Thekkady: Forest Trails and Wildlife Moments

The third morning, they left for Thekkady. The view outside changed again. Hills faded into dense jungle. The air smelt woody and fresh.

Upon arrival, they checked into Coffee Routes, a beautiful nature-themed resort. After a short rest, they headed for sightseeing.

The highlight of the day was the boat ride on Periyar Lake. As the boat moved silently through green waters, everyone scanned the forest edges, hoping to spot wildlife.

A family member said softly, “Look there, something is moving.”
But it was only a rustle.
Then suddenly someone pointed, “Elephants. There.”
In the distance, a herd stood near the trees. Small shapes, but still special.

After the lake ride, they explored more experiences. Elephant rides. Jeep safaris. Spice gardens. The day ended with happy tiredness.

From Thekkady to Alleppey: Entering the Backwaters

Day 4 brought a shift from forest to water. The family drove to Alleppey, known for Kerala’s iconic backwaters. After checking into their stay, they visited the Alleppey Lighthouse, climbing up to catch the sweeping view of the coastline.

In the evening, they walked along Alappuzha Beach, watching the waves curl and break. Little Advik collected seashells and said proudly, “I am starting a collection.”

The sunset was warm and golden. The family stood together in silence, soaking in the moment.

Alleppey to Kovalam: Beachside Peace

After breakfast, they travelled to Kovalam, a seaside paradise.
The journey took about four hours, and the entire time, the driver ensured comfort.

When they reached UDS Beach Hotel, everyone admired the beautiful property.
Abhay said, “This is wonderful. The kids will love it.”

In the evening, they visited Kovalam Beach.
Some tried swimming.
Some sat on the sand.
Some took long walks.

The sound of the waves washed away every bit of stress.

Half-Day Trivandrum Sightseeing: Culture and Calm

The next day, they left for Trivandrum.

First stop was the Padmanabhaswamy Temple, standing tall with its sacred atmosphere. The architecture fascinated the elders. The children held hands quietly, sensing the importance of the place.

Next, they visited the Napier Museum, filled with ancient idols, ornaments and carvings.
Then the Sri Chitra Art Gallery, where paintings from across India and Asia were displayed.

The final stop of the day was Veli Lake, where bridges, sculptures and calm water created a scenic backdrop. Some family members tried boating, while others simply enjoyed the breeze.

By evening, they returned to Kovalam to catch the sunset.

Kanyakumari Excursion: Where Oceans Meet

The next morning, after breakfast, the family set off for Kanyakumari. The coastal drive felt refreshing.

When they reached the tip of India, the view was extraordinary. The place where the Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal meet looked vast and powerful.

They visited the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the Thiruvalluvar Statue by ferry. The waves splashed softly against the rocks.

A family member said, “This is the highlight of the trip. The energy here is different.”

They stayed back to watch the sunset. The sky melted into shades of orange, pink, and gold.

Departure: A Beautiful End

The final day arrived. They packed their bags, ate breakfast, and headed to the airport. The driver helped with luggage. He said kindly, “I hope you had a good journey.” Abhay smiled and replied, “More than good. It was perfect.”

Looking back, Abhay said: “Kamini and Yashika planned our entire trip and coordinated till the very end. The service was perfect. The hotels were great, the vehicle was comfortable, and the driver was professional. We will definitely recommend Thrillophilia to others.”

The Thapliyal family returned home with wonderful memories and deep appreciation for the beauty of Kerala.
