A Family Tale Through Vietnam: A Thrillophilia Review by Kamaline Paul
A Trip That Began With Curiosity
For twenty four year old Kamaline Paul, this trip to Vietnam was the first time she would explore a new country with her parents, Swapan and Mousumi. Her father always preferred simple, peaceful holidays, while her mother loved visiting new cultures and markets. Kamaline wanted a mix of both and hoped this trip would give her family a chance to slow down and spend time together without the usual daily routines.
One evening, when the final itinerary was confirmed, her mother said, “Vietnam looks beautiful. I hope we can keep up with all the sightseeing.”

Swapan smiled and replied, “If you walk fast, I will walk fast. If you walk slow, I will walk slow.”
Kamaline laughed, knowing this trip was already off to a warm start.
Booking through Thrillophilia helped them plan their ten day journey. The team guided them through flights, transfers and sightseeing. Everything was arranged in a simple, clear way, which reassured her parents and made the whole preparation feel smooth.
Hanoi and Its Charming First Impressions
Their journey began on 29 September 2025 in Hanoi. The private sedan waiting at the airport made the arrival easy. After checking in at their hotel, the family set out for the Hanoi Half Day City Tour.
They visited Hoa Lo Prison first. The stories of the Vietnam War left them thoughtful. Next, they walked through the Temple of Literature, where their guide explained how the place once served as Vietnam’s first university. Mousumi ran her fingers along the ancient stone pillars and said quietly, “There is so much history in this country.”

The day continued with a visit to Ngoc Son Temple at Hoan Kiem Lake. The lake glowed softly under the afternoon light. Swapan stood for a moment and said, “Peace like this is hard to find.”
The next day took them on a full trip to Ninh Binh. The long boat ride through Tam Coc became one of the most relaxing parts of the holiday. The limestone cliffs towered around them. The river moved slowly and the fields around looked bright green. Kamaline kept taking videos while her mother said, “This feels like a dream. Slow and beautiful.”
The Magic of Halong Bay
On Day 3 with their Vietnam tour package itinerary, they travelled to Halong Bay for their overnight cruise. This was the moment they were most excited about.
The ship moved steadily through the calm waters as the cliffs appeared one after another. Standing on the deck, Kamaline told her father, “This looks like something out of a movie.”
He replied, “And we are watching it live.”
Their room on the cruise was comfortable and the food was fresh. In the evening, they sat together watching the sunset paint the entire bay in warm colours. Mousumi whispered, “I wish I could freeze this moment.”

The next morning, they took part in the cave exploration included in their itinerary. The rock formations inside the cave surprised them. Kamaline kept pointing at unusual patterns, while her father listened patiently to the guide’s explanations.
Comfort and Colours in Da Nang
After returning to Hanoi, the family took their flight to Da Nang on Day 5. This day was left free for rest, which helped everyone recharge. Swapan enjoyed sitting near the beach, soaking in the breeze. Mousumi and Kamaline explored nearby cafes.

The next morning was dedicated to the Ba Na Hills tour with breakfast and lunch included. The cable car ride stunned the family. From high above, they could see mountains, clouds and forests spread out like a wide painting.
The Golden Bridge impressed them even more. Kamaline held her mother’s hand and said, “You are finally standing on the bridge you saw on Instagram.”

Her mother laughed, “It looks even better in real life.”
The family spent the rest of the day exploring gardens, small villages and scenic pathways in Ba Na Hills.
A Walk Through the Past in Hoi An
The next day brought them to Cam Thanh Village and Hoi An for a walking tour, with dinner included. The basket boat ride made them smile like children. Mousumi said, “I never thought I would sit in a round boat,” and Kamaline giggled the whole way.

Hoi An charmed them instantly. The lanterns, the river, the old shops and the colourful night market gave them a warm and nostalgic feeling. Swapan bought a handmade souvenir and said, “Something small to remember this place.”
Ho Chi Minh City and a Gentle Goodbye
On Day 8, they flew to Ho Chi Minh City. The day was kept at leisure with breakfast, giving them time to settle in and explore nearby areas. The city felt lively and full of movement.
The next day took them to the Mekong Delta and Cu Chi Tunnel tour, both included with breakfast and lunch as shown in the file. The boat ride, the coconut farms and the local music in the Mekong region made them smile. The Cu Chi Tunnels gave them a deep sense of respect for Vietnam’s past.

On Day 10, they packed their bags with a quiet fondness. While leaving for the airport, Mousumi said, “We did a lot in ten days.”
Swapan added, “And we did it together.”
Kamaline smiled, knowing these moments would stay with them forever.
A Family Memory to Hold On To
From Hanoi to Halong Bay, from Da Nang to Hoi An, and finally to Ho Chi Minh City, the family experienced Vietnam in a slow, heartfelt way. The arrangements made with were smooth, the support was steady and each day unfolded without stress.

Kamaline felt grateful that her parents enjoyed the trip as much as she hoped. It was not just a holiday. It was a shared memory, a chance to be present with one another and an experience they would cherish for years to come.
