The Family Adventure: Milind’s Magical Bhutan Trip with Thrillophilia
Every family trip becomes a story that children carry in their hearts forever.
For Milind Chavan and his family, Bhutan was not just another destination. It became the peaceful escape they had been longing for, a place where mountains whispered stories and every moment felt like a memory in the making.
From the beginning, Thrillophilia made their experience smooth. Milind appreciated how well everything was coordinated, from their hotel stays to the guided sightseeing and the child-friendly schedule. With bags packed, excitement high, and the kids bubbling with endless questions, the family set off on a journey filled with nature, culture, and togetherness.
A Journey Filled with Warmth and Wonder

The moment their vehicle left Siliguri and headed towards Phuentsholing, Milind felt an instant shift. The kids pressed their faces to the windows, amazed by the hills and forests around them. The fresh breeze washed away everyday stress and replaced it with calmness.
After checking into Hotel Meto Pema, the family took a short rest and then stepped out into the peaceful streets. They explored the local markets. The kids moved from shop to shop, excited by snacks, colours and tiny souvenirs. For Milind, it felt like the perfect beginning. Simple, slow and joyful.
Dinner that night was warm and comforting. The family slept peacefully, ready for what awaited them.
Thimphu: A Blend of Learning, Fun and Beauty

The next morning began with a delicious breakfast. Soon after, they drove through scenic mountain roads to Thimphu, where their hotel, Nordenma, welcomed them with warmth.
Their sightseeing began at the Motithang Takin Preserve, where the kids were fascinated by Bhutan’s national animal. Milind smiled as they asked endless questions. The guide patiently explained everything, making the children feel entertained and involved.
Next came the beautiful Tashichho Dzong, followed by the peaceful National Memorial Chorten, where locals walked with prayer wheels. The family then explored the National Handicrafts Emporium, picking up little items and learning about Bhutanese traditions.
They returned to the hotel wrapped in the cool evening air, ready for dinner and a good sleep.
Punakha’s Magic. Rivers, Passes and Unforgettable Views

Day three took them through one of the most scenic routes. After breakfast, they visited the enormous Buddha Statue and the historic Simtokha Dzong, then continued towards the breathtaking Dochula Pass.
Standing at Dochula surrounded by 108 stupas and panoramic views of distant peaks, Milind felt grateful. The kids ran around happily, taking pictures and laughing. The place felt peaceful and powerful at the same time.
Next, the family visited Chimi Lhakhang, followed by Punakha Dzong, where two rivers meet. Milind stood quietly for a moment, watching his family enjoy the view. He thought to himself that this was exactly why people travel.
Dinner at their hotel in Punakha completed a beautiful day.
Paro: A Place Where Stories Live Forever
After breakfast the next day, the family drove to Paro and checked into Zhideychen Resort, a cosy stay surrounded by hills.
Their first visit was to Drukgyel Dzong, a site filled with history. This was followed by Kichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan. Walking through these ancient places, Milind felt his children discovering a world far beyond their textbooks.
That evening, they relaxed over dinner and plenty of laughter.
The Tiger’s Nest Trek. A Day to Remember
The fifth day was the one everyone had been waiting for. The hike to Taktsang Monastery, also known as Tiger’s Nest.
With backpacks secured and spirits high, the family began the climb. The kids walked with enthusiasm, stopping often to admire pine trees, prayer flags and the beautiful views.
They took a break at Taktsang Cafeteria, enjoying snacks while looking at the valley below. The final stretch was the famous climb of 700 steps. Milind held his child’s hand and said that they were stronger than they thought.
When they reached the viewpoint and saw the monastery perched on the cliff, a wave of pride washed through all of them. This was not just sightseeing. It was a shared victory that would stay in their memories for years.
A Heartfelt Goodbye
Their last morning in Paro began with breakfast under the soft mountain sun. The drive back to Siliguri was filled with music, stories and sleepy children leaning on their parents.
As Bhutan slowly disappeared behind the curves of the hills, Milind felt a bittersweet ache. He knew they were leaving with something precious. Not just pictures, but a collection of moments that touched their hearts.
A Moment of Gratitude

Looking back, Milind shares his thoughts with a smile.
“Bhutan was beautiful for us as a family. The hotels were clean, the guide was helpful, everything was well planned, and the kids enjoyed every moment. Thank you for this wonderful experience.”
This was not only a holiday. It was a family bonding journey filled with happiness, learning and Himalayan magic.
