Beyond Beaches and Shores: Saikat’s Thailand Trip with Thrillophilia

When Saikat and his partner dreamed of a laid-back escape to the "Land of Smiles," they knew exactly what they wanted: a stress-free experience that allowed them to fully explore.

Opting for a complete travel package, their 7 days and 6 nights in Thailand turned out to be the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure. The itinerary covered it all…breathtaking beaches, luxurious stays, lively city tours, and fun boat rides, all hats off to Thrillophilia.

When Tathagata, Thrillophilia’s Destination Expert for Thailand, reached out to discuss their trip, Saikat made his needs clear:

“I’m a businessman with limited time to plan, and my partner is the same. We’re looking for an all-inclusive trip- completely covered from and to Kolkata, our home.”

And that’s exactly what Tathagata and Sourav delivered. An all-inclusive, stress-free journey through Thailand that allowed the couple to focus on what truly mattered: enjoying every moment!

A Start in Between Islands
Saikat’s trip began from Phuket with a short trip to Krabi, the first destination. Here, they had their first Thailand experience, the 4 Island speedboat tour- Krabi, then Koh Poda Island followed by Chicken Island and Phranang Cave Beach.

The rush of wind and the spray of the sea heightened the thrill as they zipped across the turquoise waters. First up was Koh Poda, where the white sandy beaches felt like a dream beneath their feet. Next came the iconic Chicken Island, where they were startled by the quirky rock formations before diving into the crystal-clear water for a swim. The last stop, Phranang Cave Beach, was so magical as they witnessed it during sunset leaving them both awestruck!

After this exhausting but worth it day, they headed back to their beautiful stay by the coast specially chosen by Saikat’s partner.

A Day through Azure- Emerald Waters
Picture this: deep blue waters, humongous limestone cliffs, and a scene that looks like it’s been plucked straight out of a postcard. That’s exactly how the couple felt during their Phi Phi Island tour. They even got to enjoy authentic Thai food right on their speedboat! The sight of the limestone formations and the gentle sound of the water made for a perfect, laid-back lunch setting.

On the contrary, Maya Bay had a completely different vibe. On one side, there were breathtaking views, and on the other side, the lively buzz of other travellers. This crescent-shaped beach had soft and powdery sand, and felt surreal- no wonder it was featured in The Beach with Leonardo DiCaprio!

Sure, there were plenty of tourists, but the beauty of the spot made it totally worth it. They wrapped up the evening at a charming beachside restaurant, the perfect end to an unforgettable day.

A trip to- Bond….. James Bond, Island

Saikat and his partner were taken by the vibe the moment they stepped onto James Bond Island. The beach was lively with tourists, but that didn’t take away from the wonder of seeing that iconic rock in the middle.

Way high above the emerald-green waters, it seemed to balance on its tip, almost surreal. They had seen it in pictures, but nothing compared to witnessing it in person, it was a sight that truly made you stop and marvel.

The Longtail Boat tour around Phang Nga Bay was a contrast to the beach. They glided through the calm waters, the traditional Thai boat gave them a perfect view of the majestic limestone cliffs that framed the bay. The salty breeze, the rhythmic sound of the water, and the sight of boats dotting the coast created a peaceful escape.

After the fun Boat tour, kayaking was a magical experience for the couple. Paddling under hollow limestone caves was like entering another world. As they moved through the dense mangrove forests, all that broke the silence was the soft splash of their oars, and Saikat could feel the quiet beauty of nature. It was calming, almost meditative, with each stroke in sync with the surrounding stillness.

A Ride through Phuket’s Cultural Side
Saikat’s journey through Thailand was not confined just to the sandy shores; instead, it grew into the heart of Thai heritage!

Their cultural adventure began with the Big Buddha, a massive 45-metre-high statue perched atop Nakkerd Hill. Now, they could’ve taken the easy route- a smooth motorable road but in true competitive spirit, they challenged each other to hike to the top.

The initial stretch was fun, filled with laughter and teasing, but halfway up, reality hit. The heat and the climb got to them both! Eventually, one caved in and flagged down a tuk-tuk while the other silently joined with a mutual promise to never mention the challenge again.

Reaching the top, however, was a spiritual and visual reward. The Big Buddha stood tall, serene, and majestic, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Phuket.

After catching their breath and taking a few selfies, they made their way to Wat Chalong, Phuket’s largest and most revered temple. The temple was a sight to behold: stunning pagodas, intricate wall paintings depicting the life of Buddha, and the calming atmosphere created an overwhelming sense of peace.

In the evening, the duo wandered through the Phuket beach markets, picking up quirky souvenirs to take back home. The colourful stalls buzzed with energy, offering everything from local crafts to clothes. They ended their day at the lively night markets, where they devoured local street food. From the sweetness of mango sticky rice to the fiery kick of spicy Pad Thai, every bite for them was a delicious discovery.

Biding an Adieu
As Saikat narrated, “It was a beautifully arranged trip and we really enjoyed and loved it. All the inclusions were covered and arrangements were made properly. We didn’t have to think about anything as everything was so sorted and we just relaxed the whole time.”

This cultural dive into Phuket left them with not just souvenirs, but rich memories of the island's traditions and beauty!  As they headed back home, they reminisced about their time relaxing on the white sands and blue waters and celebrating a successful trip.
