Sampath’s Family Reunion in God’s Own Country with Thrillophilia

Sampath’s Family Reunion in God’s Own Country with Thrillophilia

The smell of fried snacks filled the air, the rain tapped gently on the windows, and the living room buzzed with laughter and chatter.

It was Sampath and his family, including all the brothers, sisters, and children, who had gathered under one roof. Having dinner and looking through an old album, a photograph caught the eye of Sampath’s nephew. When he enquired about it, he insisted on going there someday.

This sparked an idea into Sampath’s mind, and he asked, “Shall we plan to go to Kerala?”

And just like that, the entire family decided to travel to the southern part of the country. Sampath took the responsibility to plan the itinerary. But, with a chaotic work schedule, he handed the work to Thrillophilia and their coordinator, Kamini Kumari.

He was glad that he had taken the right decision, as Thrillophilia took care of everything. They just packed their bags and left for Coimbatore.

Into the Hills and Heart of Kerala

When they stepped out of the Coimbatore airport, a tempo traveller was waiting for them. Soon after getting into the vehicle, the laughter, snacks, and card games began.

The Tudgani family was on their way to Munnar. As the road twisted and turned, they could see the Cheeyappara and Valara waterfalls cascading over rocks. The little children pressed their faces against the windows, and the others clicked tons of pictures.

While passing by the Karadippara View Point, they began to see the mist surrounding the mountains. Everyone was silent to witness this beautiful sight before them.

Soon, they reached Munnar after travelling for around 4.5 hours. Their hotel was warm, comforting, and perfect for the entire group. Sampath realised that for the first time, he had seen that no one was on their phone, and simply enjoying and being present.

After a good sleep, they took off to explore the beauty of Munnar the next day. They visited Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, and Kundala Lake. The kids screamed just to hear their voices bounce back from the hills at Echo Point. On the other hand, the elders sat by the lake and enjoyed the peace around with a cup of tea.

The Road to the Sea and the Soul

On the third day, the family travelled to Kovalam Beach. During the drive, they stopped by the Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Trivandrum. The group changed into traditional attire and walked barefoot on the stone floor of the temple.

They reached Kovalam Beach at sunset. The kids ran wild on the sand while the adults sat on the beach chairs and shared roasted corn and coconut water. Sampath looked at the edge of the water and looked back at his family. Everyone was smiling and playing against the waves.

Backwaters, Bites, and Beautiful Silence

Their next stop was Alleppey, which is famous for its stillness, palm trees, and canals. They checked into their hotel and then cruised along the backwaters. The boat passed the narrow waterways, waved at the local children, and a woman selling groceries. Everything seemed to slow down with the gliding of the boat and the occasional chirping of the birds.

The Tudgani family shared a simple lunch wrapped in banana leaves and later explored the greenery of Alleppey on foot. All the members clicked dozens of photos for their social media feeds.

That night, they played games in the hotel courtyard. The aunts teamed up against the uncles, the kids made their own rules, and the elders cheered them all.

The Final Stretch

Upon reaching Coimbatore, Sampath and his family explored the GD Naidu Industrial Exhibition and botanical gardens. While the kids ran through flower beds, Sampath and his siblings sat in the corners talking about childhood vacations. They had given their children what they themselves had loved years ago: memories made outside of routine.

On the way back, while everyone was talking about the trip, the food, the laughter, and the tiny moments that he had brought them all closer, Sampath sat quietly by the window. He thought of how this trip had come together with such genuine efforts of Thrillophilia.

In his words, “From the moment we landed in Coimbatore to our heartfelt farewell at the airport, it was a journey filled with breathtaking beauty, enriching experiences, and genuine warmth, all thanks to the careful planning and impeccable execution by your team."

He expressed a special gratitude to their driver: "Please thank the driver, Nagendran! He was truly a professional and one whom we would definitely miss; he was so sweet and very humble."
