City Lights, Chocolate Trails And Alpine Magic: Shivangi’s Europe Journey With Family
Where Their Europe Dream Finally Began
For Shivangi Juneja, her sister Aditi and their father Satish Kumar Juneja, this trip to Amsterdam, Belgium and Switzerland was more than a holiday. It was a long-awaited family chapter, a chance to explore new cities, celebrate time together and create memories they knew would stay with them long after the trip ended. The world felt bigger, brighter and more welcoming the moment they stepped into Amsterdam. Even before the journey unfolded, the support from Thrillophilia had made everything seamless, giving the family confidence and comfort as they travelled across countries.
Amsterdam’s crisp winter air, glowing canals and lively streets welcomed them warmly. Their first hours in Europe felt like stepping into a place that blended history, beauty and freedom so naturally. It set the perfect tone for the adventure that lay ahead.
Amsterdam’s Canals And Winter Evenings: A Gentle Start to Their Journey
Their time in Amsterdam began with slow exploration, letting the city reveal itself without hurry. The highlight of their stay came when they stepped aboard the Classic Saloon Boat for a canal cruise. Soft lights reflected on the water, bridges arched elegantly overhead, and the city’s charm shone even brighter as evening settled in.
The warm interior of the saloon boat, the comforting drinks and the taste of Dutch cheese created a beautiful atmosphere. Shivangi and Aditi smiled as they took in the views, while their father enjoyed the relaxing pace of the cruise. The canals whispered stories of old Dutch life, and the city’s beauty felt intimate and timeless in the gentle glow of winter.
Amsterdam felt like a place that invited curiosity and freedom, and for the Juneja family, it was the perfect opening chapter to their Europe experience.
Into Belgium: Where Cobblestones And Fairytale Cities Waited
Their journey to Belgium by Eu Rail brought its own charm. The countryside passed by in shades of green and winter grey, and the train journey gave them time to unwind. When they reached Brussels, the city welcomed them with grand architecture, bustling squares and a unique blend of modern life and old-world personality.
The next day, their tour to Bruges and Ghent felt nothing short of magical. Bruges, with its fairytale-like streets, canals and medieval buildings, made the family feel like they were walking inside a storybook. Every corner, every bridge and every tower looked picture perfect.
In Ghent, the Gothic towers and vibrant squares created a beautiful contrast, offering a different but equally charming side of Belgium. The family spent time wandering, clicking photos and absorbing the city’s elegance. Satish enjoyed learning about the history, while the sisters explored the cafés, shops and scenic spots with excitement.
Belgium left them with warm memories of cobblestone paths, postcard landscapes and a sense of stepping briefly into another era.
Zurich And the Sweet Beginning of Their Swiss Chapter
From Brussels, the family travelled to Zurich by Eurail, entering a world where nature, efficiency and beauty merged effortlessly. Their Swiss Pass became their companion for the next few days, making every journey simple and scenic.
One of the sweetest highlights of their Switzerland stay was visiting the Lindt Home of Chocolate. Walking into the world of Swiss chocolate, watching the giant chocolate fountain and learning how the iconic flavours came to life made the experience fun and unforgettable. The aroma of fresh chocolate filled the air, and the tasting sessions felt like a special treat, especially for the sisters who had always loved the brand.
Later, they used their Swiss Pass to travel to Montreux, a lakeside town that looked dreamy in winter. The calm lake, the elegant promenade and the distant view of snowy peaks made Montreux feel peaceful and poetic.
It was the day that made Switzerland feel real, warm and incredibly beautiful.
Mount Titlis: A Day of Family Laughter and White Landscapes

Their Mount Titlis excursion became one of the happiest days of the entire trip. The rotating cable car, the rising mountain views and the first sight of thick snow filled them with childlike excitement. Shivangi and Aditi laughed as they tried to take photos in the cold wind, and Satish enjoyed the calm beauty of the mountains spreading infinitely before them.
The Ice Flyer chairlift added a touch of adventure, carrying them gently over cliffs and snowfields. At the top, they walked through the glacier cave, played with snow and admired the views of the endless white peaks surrounding them.
Titlis gave the family exactly what they had imagined for years: a day filled with fresh air, laughter, wonder and the joy of being far away from the everyday.
Grindelwald And Lauterbrunnen: Valleys Straight Out of a Dream

Their next day took them deeper into the scenic heart of Switzerland, toward Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen. Grindelwald stood before them like a painting, a village hugged by mountains, wooden chalets and quiet winter sunlight. It felt like a soft, peaceful moment in the middle of their busy itinerary.
Lauterbrunnen felt even more unreal. Waterfalls fell silently down cliffs, the valley stretched long and calm, and the snow-capped mountains framed the village perfectly. The family walked slowly through the streets, taking in the quiet beauty of the valley. It was one of those places that made them want to stop, breathe and stay a little longer than planned.
Both towns showed them Switzerland’s gentle, untouched side, reminding them why travellers fall in love with the country again and again.
The Feelings They Took Home When the Journey Ended

As their journey came to an end, the family realised how deeply Europe had touched them. Amsterdam had given them warm canals and easy evenings. Belgium had given them history, culture and dreamlike towns. Switzerland had given them mountains, lake views and a kind of peacefulness they had not felt in years.
Every step of the way, Thrillophilia’s guidance, coordination and constant support made their travel smooth, safe and joyful. From the planning stage to daily check-ins, the team had made sure the Juneja family felt cared for throughout.
They returned home carrying photographs, souvenirs and stories, but also something far more precious, the memory of exploring Europe together, just the three of them, in days that felt both beautiful and unforgettable.
