Sunshine, Backwaters, And Little Adventures: Srinivas’s Heartwarming Family Trip to Kerala

Where Their Family Break Finally Began

For Srinivas Lakshmivarapu and his wife, Pavani, this Kerala getaway had been a long time coming. With their little daughter, 3-year-old Krithiksha, growing up fast, they wanted a family holiday full of moments they could treasure for years. Between busy routines and a life that rarely slows down, they hoped Kerala would give them a gentle pause, a place where nature, warmth, and togetherness blended beautifully.

The moment they landed in Kochi on 12 October 2025, they felt they had arrived somewhere soft and comforting. The humid air, lined roads, and the endless greenery immediately shifted their mood. Their driver welcomed them politely and began the drive toward Munnar, and with that, their family journey truly started.

The Road to Munnar: A Drive Filled With Firsts

The route from Kochi to Munnar was one of the first highlights of their trip. As the car moved into the hills, the scenery changed with each bend. Small villages passed by quietly, tall trees arched overhead, and cool winds replaced the coastal warmth. The first stop at Valara and Cheeyappara waterfalls brought smiles to the entire family. The roar of the water, the mist in the air, and the sight of Krithiksha watching the falls with wide eyes made the moment special.

Their driver pointed out viewpoints, explained local stories, and ensured that the journey remained smooth for the three travellers. The drive toward Munnar felt relaxing, and by the time they reached the hill station, the sun was setting behind layers of misty mountains. Their hotel in Munnar was cosy and surrounded by greenery. That night, as the family settled in, they felt the calmness of the hills settle around them, too.

Munnar: Where Tea Hills Meet Family Joy

Their full day of sightseeing in Munnar became a string of simple yet memorable experiences. The tea gardens spread endlessly across the hills and looked like soft green carpets. Pavani loved the slow walk through the estate, and little Krithiksha ran around excitedly, fascinated by the leaves and the cool breeze. The aroma of fresh tea lingered in the air, adding warmth to the chilly morning.

The family also visited spice plantations where the scent of cardamom, pepper, and nutmeg filled the surroundings. At Blossom Park, bright flowers and colourful corners made for cheerful family photos. Srinivas and Pavani watched their daughter enjoy the open spaces, making the stop even more special.

Later, they visited Mattupetty Dam, where the calm water reflected the hills beautifully. A quiet moment by the lake brought the family closer, giving them a rare pause from the usual rush. At Kundala Lake, the gentle water and soft light created a peaceful atmosphere. The family spent time walking slowly along the edges, talking, laughing, and taking in the freshness of Munnar. By the end of the day, the hills had left them feeling refreshed and deeply connected.

Alleppey: Where Backwaters Write Their Own Story

They left the hills behind and travelled toward Alleppey. The transition from mountains to palm-lined backwaters felt natural and welcoming. Once they arrived, their sightseeing tour began with a visit to Alleppey Beach. The sound of waves crashing softly and the wide open coastline created a feeling of freedom. Krithiksha played along the sand while her parents watched, smiling at how joyful she seemed.

Their next stop was the Alleppey Lighthouse. Standing tall with decades of history, it offered views of the coastline that felt expansive and bright. The family enjoyed the breeze, the height, and the time spent together in a place full of character.

They also visited Mullakkal Rajarajeswari Temple, a quiet and sacred stop in the middle of the town. Surrounded by trees and traditional architecture, the temple felt peaceful. Srinivas and Pavani appreciated the moment of stillness after a busy morning. The entire day felt smooth and well planned, giving them a mix of nature, culture, and simple family happiness.

One Last Kerala Morning Before Heading Home

The family checked out and began the drive back to Kochi. The journey was comfortable, and their driver ensured that every part of their transfer was easy and relaxed. Though it was their last day, they carried no rush, only gratitude. The backwaters, the hills, the breezy beaches, and the quiet roads all blended into soft memories they knew they would remember for a long time.

As they approached Kochi for their departure, they realised how quickly the past few days had passed. The careful itinerary, the friendly driver, and the ease of every arrangement had allowed them to enjoy the trip without stress.

Little Krithiksha slept peacefully in the car, tired from the adventures yet content. Srinivas and Pavani exchanged a quiet smile, feeling glad they had taken this time to travel as a family.

They returned home with hearts full of gratitude, memories they would look back on often, and a renewed sense of togetherness. Their Kerala getaway was not just a trip. It was a family chapter written in sunshine, backwaters, and little adventures.
