Hearts and Horizons: Sudeeksha’s Dreamy Honeymoon in the Andamans

Though the journey ended, my heart still remains in Andaman!

My trip to the Andamans was a beautiful journey that I got to share with my husband. From adrenaline highs to tranquil pauses, our trip had the perfect balance. I would say that this was by far the best vacation of my life that I will always keep close to my heart.

At the moment, I am back in the city but whenever I close my eyes, I can imagine myself wandering off near the shore, drinking coconut water under a palm tree, exploring underwater life or trying a new local dish. I guess the imprint of this trip is so intense that I am not sure I’ll ever truly come back from it.

Thanks to my dear husband, as it was his idea to go to Andaman for our honeymoon. Rest, all was taken care of by the excellent services of Thrillophilia.

The Adventure Begins…
Our trip started slow and steady in the beautiful city of Port Blair. As soon as we landed there, I was impressed by its beauty in an instant and knew that the vacation was going to be extraordinary.

Our exploration started from one of the most beautiful gems of Andaman, Corbyn’s Cove Beach. After all the travelling, we wanted to spend a serene afternoon and that is exactly what we did here. We laid down under a palm tree, clicked a few pictures and walked near the shore barefoot, it was a pretty romantic start.

Later, we found an old lady inside a hut-like restaurant selling fresh seafood. Judging by its delicious aroma, we had to try it. The food tasted incredible and the price was just as satisfying.

In the evening, we went to one of the most well-known attractions of Port Blair, the Cellular Jail. Walking through those corridors reminded us of India’s struggle for independence. But what really left a deep impact on us was their light and sound show. They depicted the story of India’s struggle for freedom in such a beautiful manner that it ended up leaving most of the visitors in tears, including me.

Off to Havelock- Island of Dreams!
Port Blair amazed us, but nothing could have prepared us for the wonders of Havelock Island. The beauty of this place was straight out of a fairytale, the one I had dreamed of when I was a little girl. I couldn’t help but smile, knowing I had found my Prince Charming who brought me into this fairyland.

Our resort was nestled amidst the lush greenery and scenic beaches of the island. We were given the perfect room which was directly facing the vast blue sea. Honestly, staying in that room for even a day was an experience in itself.

After our lunch, we headed towards one of the most famous and beautiful beaches of Asia, the Radhanagar Beach. As soon as I set foot on its soft golden sands, I was swept away by its magic. I could not believe my eyes that such a breathtakingly beautiful place existed in reality.

The highlight of the day was when both of us got to witness a stunning sunset on this beach. The lively ambiance and chaos of the beach dissolved into peaceful stillness in a moment. The chatter ceased and the world seemed to pause, leaving us all in silent admiration of nature’s most mesmerising display.

Snorkelling at Elephant Beach
If the first two days had been about relaxation, the third day brought in all the thrill and adventure. After a hearty breakfast, we took a boat ride to the gorgeous Elephant Island to try snorkelling, for the first time ever!

At first, I was a little nervous yet equally excited to dive into the waters. I gathered my courage, put on the gears, held my husband’s hand and jumped into the water. As I opened my eyes, an enchanting underwater paradise unfolded before me.

I was overflowing with joy and I used every facial expression and hand gesture to share my excitement with my husband. I was actually swimming with the fish! I even tried touching one or two but they were as fast as light. Going further, we got to witness some amazing coral reefs.

Snorkelling felt like an exhilarating adventure as if I had been cast in my own version of Finding Nemo!

After this adventure, we spent the rest of the afternoon lounging by the beach, sipping on fresh coconut water, and enjoying the serenity that surrounded us.

Exploring Kalapathar Beach

On the fourth day, we decided to visit the quieter Kalapathar Beach. Less crowded than Radhanagar, this beach offered us a chance to enjoy some solitude.

We were welcomed by the stunning views of black rocks near the shore, against the contrast of white sands and blue waters. It was quiet, scenic and peaceful, giving us the perfect opportunity to soak in all the beauty of Andaman before we left.

We walked barefoot on the sand and even dipped our feet in the water. We also found a perfect spot under a tree where we enjoyed a wholesome picnic. All we could hear were the gentle waves, the cheerful chirping of birds, and, of course, my husband happily munching away—hahaha!

As the sun began to set, we watched the sky turn into beautiful shades of pink and orange. The entire beach was glowing with the reflection of the sky, creating a magical scenery.

I sighed and said, “What a lovely way to end our honeymoon!”

Adios Andaman!
On the final day, we packed our bags with a heavy heart, not quite ready to leave the paradise we called home for the past few days. Before leaving, we made one last stop at a quaint cafe on the beach to have our last lunch there.

While sipping on the coffee and admiring the views of the stunning ocean, we talked about the happy memories of our trip and realised that both of us were going to miss it so badly.

Andaman had given us more than just a vacation. It has gifted us moments of pure joy, adventure, and relaxation. The people we met, the places we visited, and the experiences we shared will forever be etched in our memories.
