Sumeet Jayantilal’s Switzerland to Paris Journey with Thrillophilia
Sumeet Jayantilal and his wife wanted to travel to Switzerland and Paris for a long time. But their dream came true when they landed at the Zurich International Airport in October 2022. This trip celebrated their bond and gave them a chance to create countless memories together.
As soon as they stepped out of the airport, a driver was waiting for them at the arrival gate. He took them to their hotel and provided them with the first glimpses of Zurich from their cab window. The beautiful streets, elegant buildings, and organised way of life there left them speechless.
The couple then spent the rest of the day resting, walking on the nearby streets, and enjoying the gentle vibe in Zurich. It was the perfect beginning to a beautiful Swiss journey.
Exploring Zurich and Its Surroundings
Sumeet and his wife set out to explore Zurich the next morning. They took a walk through some of the main areas of the city and were fascinated to see the clean streets and lakeside beauty.
Moreover, they took a 2-hour boat ride on Lake Zurich. The boat moved through small villages and green hills and then stopped at Rapperswil. There, they walked through the town’s narrow streets, soaked in the peaceful environment and the views.
After spending some time in Rapperswil, they returned to Zurich by train. They also walked through the old town and had dinner near the lake.
Mountains, Views, and Lucerne
Day 3 was one of the most scenic parts of their trip when they travelled from Zurich to Grindelwald. After a short coffee break, they took a cable car up the mountain. The ride offered amazing sights of glaciers, forests, and mountain peaks.
At the top, they walked along a footbridge suspended over a deep valley, also called the “footbridge over the empty.” It was indeed thrilling and memorable. They also had a delicious lunch on the mountain while being surrounded by snow-covered peaks.
In the afternoon, they drove to Lucerne. They walked near the Chapel Bridge, explored the old town, and took photos by the lake. The calm waters, wooden bridges, and glowing lights made for a magical evening before returning to Zurich for the night.
From Bern to Paris
The next day, they left Zurich to visit Bern, the capital of Switzerland. The town was small, but it's medieval buildings and charming streets built along a river bend looked surreal. Sumeet and his wife took a peaceful walk, clicked photos, and enjoyed the historic atmosphere.
From Bern, they travelled to Paris and saw beautiful lake views along the way. After a long and scenic drive, they reached their destination in the evening and checked into their hotel.
Palace Walks, Painters, and Paris Streets
On Day 5, they visited the Grand Palace of Versailles, which was once home to the kings and queens of France. The stunning gardens and golden halls of the palace were impressive.
They returned to Paris for lunch and then travelled to Montmartre. There, they rode the funicular up the hill and enjoyed the view of the city from the top. There were many painters and cosy cafés all around, and music filled the air as they walked through the streets.
In the afternoon, they joined a city tour and saw some of the most famous places in Paris, like the Arc de Triomphe, Champs-Élysées, and Notre Dame Cathedral.
Witnessing the Eiffel Tower for the First Time
Visiting the Eiffel Tower was the best part of their trip. They went up to the second level and enjoyed the amazing views of the whole city.
They also took a boat ride on the Seine River. As the boat moved through the centre of Paris, they saw famous beautiful buildings, old bridges, and charming spots by the riverside. The gentle ride and cool breeze during the ride made it a peaceful and romantic moment.
The rest of the day was free, and they used it to explore on their own by walking, shopping, and enjoying good food. They relished everything, from fresh croissants to artists painting near the river.
A Trip to Remember
The last day of the trip arrived. After having breakfast, they packed their bags and got ready to go back home. As Sumeet was writing his journal, he recalled their visit to Zurich, Grindelwald, and Paris.
Everything on the trip went smoothly - hotels, travel, and all the activities. The Thrillophilia team managed everything so well that Sumeet and his wife did not have to worry about anything. They could just relax and enjoy every moment.
For both of them, this was a truly special trip that they would always remember.
