Roaming in Love: Dileep’s Epic Trip to Europe with Thrillophilia
Hello Readers,
Currently, I am flying back to Hyderabad from Rome. Sitting next to me, is my partner and two of my friends, all with a pouty face. Why…?
Because we were heading home after having the most legendary trip ever!!
We had spent the last 13 days exploring various countries of Europe. How does one make a comeback from that and go back to their usual lives?
It was such a wholesome trip, full of fun, excitement, adventure and romance. We toured around 7 Schengen countries: France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and Vatican City.
Can you believe that we covered these seven amazingly beautiful countries in 13 days?
Well, fasten your seat belts as I am about to take you on an exhilarating ride through the highlights of my romantic European getaway!
In the City of Romance!
The idea of having a trip to Europe actually clicked when all four of us were discussing going on a double date trip. And as we all know, when it comes to love there is no better place on Earth than the ‘City of Love’- Paris!
Paris was our first stop and the perfect start to our trip. We all were pretty excited to explore the charm of this wonderful city.
So, the day started with exploring a few popular attractions of the city. Some of my top favourites were Notre Dame, Louvre Museum and Musée d’Orsay. Of course, we also visited the iconic Eiffel Tower.
But the real ‘cherry on top’ was when we got to actually climb it and enjoy the stunning, panoramic views of Paris.
Another worth mentioning experience was our funicular ride over the high-rise buildings and the stunning landscape of the city. We took the ride to reach the Basilica of Sacre-Coeur – which is one of the most visited tourist attractions. To be honest, the beauty of this basilica was as captivating as the mesmerising scenery surrounding it.
And now coming to the main event- our unforgettable and magical date night in Paris!
After the sightseeing tour, we went back to our hotel to get changed into our best attires for the sinner. We were going on a cruise ride on the stunning River Seine, one of the city’s gems.
To add to this romantic night, my friend and I managed to purchase a rose, hide it well and then surprise our girls with it, right before leaving the hotel room. (Ps: If only I could use words to describe their expressions!)
Our cruise ride over the sparkling waters of River Seine was truly a magical experience. We passed through so many attractions of Paris, all shimmering in vibrant lights. We relished in the stillness and tranquillity of the river while admiring the chaos of the city’s nightlife from a distance.
A Day of Fairytales and Fun!
Next up was Disneyland!
Our tour in this magical destination started from the ‘Sleeping Beauty’s Castle’ and ended at ‘Adventureland’. Every nook and corner of Disneyland was full of surprises worth exploring. It was almost as if we had entered an entirely different world of cartoons, fairies and magic.
Throughout the day, we tried many different types of fun rides that it is hard to remember them all. In between, we kept recharging ourselves with delicious snacks from the various food stalls. Even while writing this, I can still (almost) taste the cheesy corn dogs that I enjoyed there.
But, you know what the best part was? Well, it was when I got to see my partner jump like a little kid on seeing her favourite Disney character, Mickey. We took pictures with Disney characters and even danced with them- what a fun day!
A Trip to Europe’s Largest Waterfall!
We were lucky enough to witness the beauty and magnificence of the Rhine Falls in Switzerland.
If you ever visit Switzerland, you must make sure to include this natural wonder in your itinerary and I am sure you will be as amazed as we were!
Honestly, the view before me was so astonishing that it took me longer than a few minutes to gather myself. All I wanted to do was get close to it, touch it and see if it really exists or am Iiving in a dreamy world.
And just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, we all got on a boat and went closer to the waterfall. There was a point when we were so close to the falls that we could feel the fresh, cool mist on our faces.
Nothing can be more refreshing than this. Isn’t it?
All the Way to the Top!
Wondering what am I talking about?
Well, one of the many amazing experiences of our trip was when we reached the top of Europe- Jungfraujoch! Additionally, it was also our chance to finally be able to see the breathtaking Alps of Switzerland.
Starting with - we took a scenic train ride through the snowy Alps mountains. Trust me when I say this, this was the most beautiful train ride one could ever have in their lifetime. Seeing the journey, I got all the more excited to reach our final destination which was the top of Europe.
To describe the beauty of Jungfraujoch, I have only one word - Paradise! I believe it now when people say that Switzerland is the ‘Heaven on Earth’.
My only thought was to somehow build a small home and stay there forever. I was not ready to leave a place like this, no one can ever be!
-Well, I have talked about all the highlights of my trip in the hope to relive those wonderful memories for a little longer.
My trip sadly ended here and so does my review of this dreamy getaway to Europe!
