Exploring Himachal: Vijay’s Fun-Filled Family Trip with Thrillophilia

Planning a solo trip is easy, but travelling with parents requires comfort and good planning. For his parents’ anniversary, Vijay wanted to give them a memorable and well-organised trip. He and his sisters chose Thrillophilia because of their great past experiences with the company.
He imagined his parents enjoying the snow-covered mountains, exploring beautiful monasteries, and sipping tea while admiring the breathtaking views. With their busy work life, he wanted them to relax, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and experience the beauty of nature. More than just a vacation, he wanted to give them special moments and lasting memories.
He knew this trip would strengthen their bond as a family and give his parents a break from their city life and daily routine.
Thrill & Tranquility

They say the journey is more beautiful than the destination and reaching Solang Valley via Rohtang Pass makes this saying true! The scenic drive was breathtaking, with snow-capped mountains, winding roads, and stunning landscapes all around. His parents were amazed by the scenic views and felt like driving through heaven.
As they reached Solang Valley, they were greeted with even more stunning views of the snow-covered peaks. The valley was lively with people enjoying adventure activities, clicking pictures, and having the time of their lives.
Vijay’s parents, though not too adventurous, couldn’t resist the excitement and his father tried skiing, while his mother enjoyed watching people and the beautiful scenery. Vijay and his sister joined in the fun, riding ATVs, sliding down the snow, and trying out skiing. With the peaceful surroundings and thrilling activities, Rohtang Pass and Salong Valley became the highlight of their trip.
Sacred Sites & Peaceful Surroundings

Mountains are well-known for their beautiful temples and monasteries, and this trip included many such sacred and spiritual sites to explore. At the beginning of their journey from Manali, Vijay and his family visited the mystical Hadimba Devi Temple, surrounded by tall deodar trees. Locals call it the heart of Manali, and the peaceful atmosphere made the visit truly special.
They then explored the Manu Temple and Vashisht Temple, where they felt a strong spiritual aura. The Manu Temple, dedicated to the sage Manu, had a serene ambiance, and the ancient architecture fascinated them. Whereas, the Vashisht Temple was a unique experience for them as they saw the famous hot water springs, where many visitors took a dip, believing in its healing properties. Vijay’s parents enjoyed the calm surroundings, offering prayers and sitting peacefully, absorbing the divine energy.
The Tibetan Monastery, surrounded by shops selling handicrafts and carpets, was another fascinating stop. They learnt about the lives of the monks there and also shopped for some souvenirs and handicrafts made by locals as mementoes and gifts.
A Soulful Escape: Kullu, Manikaran & Jibhi

Vijay and his family began their day with a delicious breakfast before setting off on their journey to Kullu. It is known as a paradise for nature lovers and as their car moved through the winding roads, they felt the crisp mountain air, admired the breathtaking views of snow-clad peaks and glistening streams. They took a short break, exploring its famous temples and soaking in the peaceful surroundings.
Next, they travelled to Manikaran, nestled in the beautiful Parvati Valley. The hot water springs here were a unique sight, with steam rising above the flowing river. The family took a guide with them and got fascinated by the stories he told about the spring’s healing properties and even dipped their hands in the warm water. They also visited the famous Gurudwara, where they felt a deep sense of peace. Before leaving, they strolled through the lively Kasol market, picking up local handicrafts and enjoying delicious street food, especially hot momo with spicy chutney.

The next day their journey continued towards Jibhi through the scenic Jalori Pass. The drive was nothing short of magical, with pine-covered hills and misty views all around. They then hiked to Serolsar Lake and it was a hike to remember. Even Vijay’s parents enjoyed walking up feeling like young people admiring the dense forest and enjoying the cool mountain breeze.
After a scenic trek, they finally reached the lake— and it was breathtaking. The crystal-clear water reflected the sky, creating a picture-perfect view. The untouched beauty of the lake left them with a sense of calm and peace, and they learned about its significance from the locals, who consider it sacred.
As the day ended, the family reflected on their adventure, feeling grateful for the unforgettable experiences. The trip had given them not just memories but also a deep connection with nature and spirituality.
